To celebrate the official launch of the United Nations Decade of Indigenous Languages, the Royal Canadian Geographical Society’s Honorary President, Chief Perry Bellegarde, hosts a virtual event celebrating language keepers and speakers from coast to coast to coast. Held on International Mother Languages Day, the event features an important message from Chief Wilton Littlechild, musical performances by Indigenous youth and a conversation between Chief Bellegarde and Ronald Ignace, Commissioner of Indigenous Languages.
